Abbot John Brahill, OSB: CEO
Abbot John Brahill, OSB was elected the fifth Abbot of Marmion Abbey on June 25, 2010. He grew up in Hillside and Bensenville, the son of Joseph and Lucille Brahill. Abbot John graduated from Marmion in 1967 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in biology from St. Louis University. He worked in private industry until entering Marmion Abbey in 1977. He professed his vows as a Benedictine monk on August 6, 1978. He did his theological studies at St. Meinrad School of Theology in Indiana and Sant’ Anselmo University in Rome. He was ordained to the priesthood on June 5, 1982. After working at Marmion Academy for nine years in teaching and in administration, he was assigned in 1992 to the Abbey’s Mission Priory and School in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, where he served as the Prior for seventeen years, returning to Marmion Abbey in 2009.
Adam Voirin: Chief Operating Officer, Chief Information Officer
Adam came to Abbey Farms in 2009 having been tasked by the Monks of Marmion Abbey to grow Abbey Farms. Adam grew up in Batavia and spent his weekends at his parents’ farm in Mount Morris Illinois or running a growing landscape company. Adam graduated Marmion Academy in 2002 and went off to college. After graduating Ball State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture and minors in Business Management, Digital Publishing and several independent studies on how people use spaces, Adam worked in the architecture field for several years before returning home to Batavia and ultimately, Abbey Farms. Today, Adam resides in Chicago and looks forward to taking Abbey Farms to the next level while retaining the vintage charm of the nearly 70-year-old farm.
